Conical
A a tried and tested sliding system
Conical designs can present a challenge, but Interform has a tried and tested sliding system that functions superbly. We can execute conical shapes with cross-sections from 50 metres down to 2 metres. A sliding transition between the shapes ensures that the surface remains smooth and even, including at points between the different cross-sections.

For conical pipes, bridge piles, silos and similar, we use a special yoke leg that allows horizontal movement to adjust the radius. This mould system, which is adjusted to suit the specific project, also makes it possible to alter the wall angle and wall thickness. The first conical pipe, which was 125 metres high, was built in Denmark in 1967 using our equipment. The most interesting conical construction constructed to-date was built in 1984. It was an 11-metre-high conical silo built in Japan using a sliding mould. The wall angle was changed from a radius reduction of 163 mm per meter at the base to a vertical slide at a height of 5 metres, followed by a gradual radius increase to 191 mm per metre after 11 metres. Since 1974, we have worked as a sub-contractor to complete a large number of conical constructions on oil platforms.
